Kudos Web acquisition of GBS Dezign April 2011

Warkworth company Kudos Web is expanding, with the acquisition of Palmerston North-based web design house, GBS Dezign. The fusion with GBS, which also has an office in Portland, Oregon in the United States, gives Kudos international reach, and opens the way for a whole range of global opportunities. The move also brings a number of top level clients to Kudos including allblacksshop.com and canterburyofnz.com adding to the broad spectrum of Kudos’ current clients.

“We believe there are huge opportunities for Kudos to expand within the US and connect local businesses with potential business opportunities as a result of acquiring GBS Dezign,” says Kudos Web chief executive Nick Hadley. “Over half of our business now is for clients overseas, which moves Kudos Web into the global online business market.”

He says the online market is a big growth area, with online business opportunities and people’s understanding of their potential rapidly growing. “It’s not just about ‘being online’ any more. It’s about positioning yourself for the web to mean business for you and your organisation. That means being found, having a clear, credible offering once you are found and keeping your offering in the mind of your target market.”

The acquisition also widens the Kudos team’s depth of skills, particularly in the area of social network marketing and search engine optimisation.

GBS will retain both its staff members, one based in Palmerston North and one in Portland, and will join Kudos’ team of eight, all based in Warkworth.
